Vietnam E-Visa

Vietnam E-Visa (Electronic Visa) issued by the Vietnamese Immigration Department is a type of visa foreigners can obtain via an electronic system, regardless of the purpose to enter Vietnam. This makes the visa application process much more convenient and efficient, and it can also save travelers time and money.

E-Visa Types

There are two criteria to categorize the Vietnam E-Visa:

  • By purpose of visit:
    • Tourist E-Visa
    • Business E-Visa
    • Working E-Visa
  • By Length of Stay and Validity:
    • 30-day single entry
    • 30-day multiple entries
    • 90-day single entry
    • 90-day multiple entries

Benefits of E-Visa

  • E-Visa is becoming increasingly popular, and many countries now offer them to visitors from a variety of countries. Some of the benefits of E-Visa include:
    • Convenience: E-Visas can be applied for online, from anywhere in the world.
    • Speed: E-Visas can be processed much more quickly than traditional visas, often in just a few days.

I have been in Phu Quoc for 14 days on a 30-day visa exemption. Today my E-Visa has been issued. Can I use it to enter Ho Chi Minh directly from Phu Quoc?

ANSWER

Dear Harry Lime,

Thank you for your attention to our website.

You are enjoying a 30 days Visa exemption on Phu Quoc.

This Visa exemption policy applies only to Phu Quoc Island.

In case you have a new E-Visa, you need to exit Vietnam to Laos, Cambodia,... then enter Ho Chi Minh with that new E-Visa. You cannot enter Ho Chi Minh directly from PQ in this case.

Best Regards,

Heidi Phan

My nationality is exempted from the Vietnam Visa for 45 days. Do I have to wait 30 days from the time of departure to re-enter Vietnam on a unilateral visa exemption if I already did so the last time?

ANSWER

Dear Kane Will,

Thank you for your attention to our website.

There is no requirement for the day interval between 2 stays on Visa exemption.

Therefore, you don’t need to wait until 30 days to re-enter Vietnam to enjoy Visa exemption again.

Best Regards,

Heidi Phan
